Technical SEO & Core Web Vitals
Crawlability, indexing, site speed and Core Web Vitals: the technical issues that stop search engines reading your site properly in the first place.
SEO Audits · Manchester
An SEO audit is where every good SEO strategy should start: a proper look at what's actually stopping your website ranking, backed by data rather than guesswork.
I carry out SEO audits for Manchester businesses covering technical SEO, on-page content, local SEO and your backlink profile, then hand you a prioritised, plain-English report you can act on straight away, whether that's yourself, your existing team, or with me.
The basics
An SEO audit is a full health check of your website: the technical foundations, the content, and the backlinks pointing at it, checked against what's actually working for the businesses currently ranking above you. Done properly, it tells you exactly why you're not visible for the searches that matter, not just what's theoretically wrong in isolation.
For Manchester businesses specifically, that means checking your visibility against local competitors, not just a generic national benchmark. A site that looks technically fine can still lose out locally because of weak Google Business Profile signals, thin location pages, or content that never mentions the areas you actually serve, things a generic automated audit tool misses entirely.
I've audited sites for business owners across sectors from ecommerce to law firms and professional services, and the same principle holds every time: proper keyword targeting and an optimised, fast site improve user experience as much as they improve organic search performance. The goal is better visibility in search results and more website traffic that actually converts, not just tidier numbers in a rank tracker.
Coverage
Crawlability, indexing, site speed and Core Web Vitals: the technical issues that stop search engines reading your site properly in the first place.
Title tags, headings, internal linking and keyword targeting, checked page by page against what is actually ranking above you.
Where your content is thin, missing, or simply not answering the questions your customers are searching for.
A review of your backlink profile: what's helping, what's doing nothing, where digital PR could help, and where you're missing links your competitors have.
Your Google Business Profile, citations and local content, checked against what Manchester businesses ranking in the map pack are doing.
A look at who's actually outranking you and why, so the recommendations are grounded in your real market, not generic best practice.
Process
A short call to understand your business, your goals and what you already suspect is wrong. This shapes where the audit spends its time.
I go through your site and its search visibility in detail, covering technical, on-page, content, local and backlink factors. Every finding is checked and explained, not auto-generated.
You get a written report with every issue prioritised by impact and effort, not a 40-page list with no order to it. You'll know exactly what to fix first.
Some clients take the report and run with it themselves, sometimes with training from me. Others ask me to implement it as ongoing SEO. Either way works. See my SEO training and support and my full SEO services for what comes next.
Cost & time
SEO audits are priced individually rather than off a fixed list, because the right depth of audit for a five-page local business site is very different from one for a large ecommerce catalogue. I'll give you a fixed price before any work starts, once I know the size and complexity of your site.
Most audits take between one and two weeks from kickoff to the final report, depending on how much there is to review. What I won't do is promise you a rewritten site overnight; a good audit tells you what to fix, and fixing it properly still takes time.
Proof
"I recently had the pleasure of working with Adam, who conducted a comprehensive SEO audit for our website. His insights were not only thorough but also actionable, providing a clear roadmap for improving our online presence and trade. I would highly recommend Adam to anyone in need of an SEO consultant to help enhance their business."
"Adam initially completed a Site Audit on our website and I was blown away by the bespoke detail and also Adam's analysis of the data. I have since had 2 sessions on-line to go through some initial training and I am already feeling confident in the approach we have for the business going forward."
Case studies
Both of these engagements started with an audit before the strategy was built.

Most audits take between one and two weeks from kickoff to the final report, depending on how much there is to review. I would rather take the extra few days and get it right than rush out something generic.
Your first consultation is free, and I'll happily give your site a quick review as part of it. A full, written audit is a paid piece of work, because doing it properly takes days rather than minutes, but you'll know exactly what you're getting before you spend anything.
Most businesses benefit from a full audit annually, or after any major website change, plus lighter ongoing monitoring in between. Search engines and your competitors don't stand still, so a five-year-old audit tells you very little about where you stand today.
No, and nobody honestly can promise that. What an audit does is tell you precisely what is holding you back and in what order to fix it, which is the single biggest lever most sites have for improving their rankings.
Both are options. Some clients take the roadmap and implement it themselves or with their own developer, sometimes with training from me. Others bring me on for ongoing SEO to implement it directly. I'll tell you honestly which route suits your situation.
Yes. This audit covers classic SEO: technical health, content, local and backlinks. If you specifically want to know how visible you are in Google AI Overviews, ChatGPT and Perplexity, see my dedicated AI readiness audit instead.
No. Most of my audit clients are in Greater Manchester, Stockport and Cheshire, but I carry out SEO audits for businesses across the UK. The process is the same wherever you're based.
